Mechanical Cherry Keys

In the realm of gaming keyboards, mechanical switches have become the standard choice, encompassing approximately 90% of the market, including the MAX keyboard. The fundamental concept behind mechanical switches is to offer users a more tangible sensation during key presses, in contrast to the conventional rubber membrane found in cheaper keyboards, while still delivering rapid performance. Over the past year or two, mechanical keyboards have witnessed a significant surge in popularity, with gamers strongly favoring them over dome-based keys.

With the new MGX switches, these choices end as an actuation force can be configured at a software level in iCUE, and that brings the best of two worlds to the keyboard, suited for gaming and configurable for a lot of typing.

One of the notable features of the MAX keyboard is its full key rollover capability, enabling the registration of all pressed keys simultaneously. Although this feature may seem redundant for a user with ten fingers, it ensures flawless input detection during intense gaming sessions. The MGX switches employed in the MAX keyboard boast impressive endurance, withstanding over 50 million key presses. While we haven't specifically tested this threshold, we rely on the manufacturer's assessment and assure customers that the product is covered by warranty should any issues arise.

To ensure structural stability, each key switch is directly mounted onto a top plate, complemented by PBT laser-etched keycaps that enable enhanced backlighting. In comparison to membrane keyboards, the MAX keyboard's backlighting is much more vibrant and precise. Each key is illuminated by an individual LED, providing optimal lighting effects. When users remove a keycap, they will find an LED directly beneath it, enhancing the overall lighting experience.

The inclusion of custom gaming keycaps enhances the tactile feel and presents a more standardized font. Additionally, the curved and rubberized keys offer a distinctive and comfortable touch. Mechanical keyboards, like the MAX, thrive on personalization. For intense gamers, the ability to replace individual keys is crucial, especially when key labels fade over time. Users can easily customize their keyboard, such as illuminating specific keys like the WASD keys for quick and precise gaming navigation. The MAX keyboard offers the freedom to choose personalized color combinations for a tailored gaming experience
