In this review, we'll examine the Corsair K70 MAX keyboard with detailed images to guide us. Let's start with the packaging and bundle contents. The core features across the lineup include MGX key switches, 8000Hz polling, full-key rollover, and 100% anti-ghosting. Corsair refers to the Cherry MX Speed switches as Rapid Fire, distinguishing them from regular speed switches. With configurable actuation forces, there's only one primary switch version, eliminating the need for multiple options like red, blue, brown, etc.

Upon unpacking, we find the bundle kit, the keyboard, a soft-touch wrist rest, and a manual/warranty guide. The K70 MAX also includes an extra spacebar and a keycap puller. The keyboard's performance is impeccable for gaming, but adjusting the actuation force also enhances its typing experience. It boasts a solid and robust build with a base made of brushed aluminum, providing both aesthetic appeal and vibration dampening. While it shares 99% of the DNA from previous K70 models, there are subtle changes to note.

Also, something trivial, we noticed that Corsair is using paper sheets to package their products now, which saves on the plastic footprint and thus environment, props to Corsair for making that call.

The wrist rest has been updated with a rubberized and dimpled texture, making it wider compared to earlier models. Users can choose to attach it or leave it aside, depending on personal preference. Programmable G keys are not prevalent in the K70 series, but essential media function keys are present and highly functional. The metal volume knob is a convenient feature. The exposed keys are easy to clean with compressed air, but this design also means the base might collect dirt more quickly than conventional keyboards.

The K70 MAX stands out with its PBT keycaps, which offer a more durable and satisfying typing experience compared to the commonly used ABS keycaps. Corsair's inclusion of a Windows lock mode key prevents accidental disruptions during intense gaming sessions, allowing users to disable the Windows key and remain focused. No additional software installation is necessary to enjoy these functions. Furthermore, users can program the windows lock key with their preferred LED backlit color, adding a touch of customization to the keyboard.

Overall, the Corsair K70 MAX impresses with its high-quality build, responsive MGX keys, durable PBT keycaps, and thoughtful features like the metal volume knob and Windows lock mode. Whether you're a gamer or a typist, this keyboard offers a seamless and enjoyable experience for all your computing needs.
