Product Showcase

The Corsair K70 MAX mechanical keyboard boasts several notable improvements over its predecessor, offering enhanced aesthetics and functionality. Upon powering on the keyboard, you'll notice the white backlight illuminating the caps-lock, scroll-lock, and Num-lock keys. Additionally, the keyboard features red backlit keys, adjustable in brightness modes, or can be completely turned off.

A significant design change can be seen in the relocation of all function keys, including Windows, Light dimming, and light effects, to a left position. The Corsair logo is embedded into the frame top side and illuminated with RGB lighting, deviating from the older designs with a simple glued-on badge.

On the keyboard's backside, Corsair has thoughtfully added rubber padding strips on the keyboard base and wrist rest, ensuring a secure mount on the desktop. The keyboard is heavy weighing in at 1.39kg and thus sits sturdy on your desktop.

The wrist rest can be conveniently attached or removed as needed. Standoffs are also provided, allowing users to adjust the height and create an angled typing position.

The K70 MAX features a two-meter-long, dark and nicely braided cable, though some users may find it a bit thick. Btw missing is a USB HUB, which we find very unfortunate. At that backside however you can spot a switch, here you can opt two distinct modes:

  1. Hardware Mode: This mode is active when iCUE is not running or when the keyboard is connected to a device that does not support iCUE.
  2. Software (S/W) Mode: In this mode, iCUE is running on a PC or Mac, and the keyboard is connected via USB wired connection.
This entails:
  1. Storage & Profiles:
  • Hardware Mode: Offers 8MB of storage, capable of accommodating up to 50 profiles*.
  • Software Mode: Provides unlimited storage capacity for profile creation and management.

Another switch on the K70 MAX keyboard is enables Tournament Mode, catering to the needs of competitive gamers. When Tournament Mode is activated, the following functionalities are modified to optimize gameplay performance:

  • Backlighting Control: The keyboard's backlighting switches to a static color, reducing distractions and allowing players to focus on their gaming experience without any visual disturbances.
  • Custom Actions and Macros Disabled: To prevent accidental activation during gameplay, custom actions and macros are disabled. This ensures that in the heat of the moment, no unintended actions disrupt the gaming session.
  • Basic Standard Keyboard Profile: The profile in use is changed to a basic standard keyboard profile, streamlining the keyboard's performance to enhance responsiveness and precision.

The keyboard supports unlimited creation of new profiles through iCUE, which can also be saved onboard for quick switching based on gaming preferences.
