For €100 you can have a fully moddable Keychron V6, which also has open source software and can be used from a website to save macro's to the keyboard. Even de Q6 is cheaper if you want a 2,5 KG aluminium plank.

Cut the wire Corsair ! Also would have liked some macro key. There's a number of game where auto-walk, hold this key, is useful (and less painful for the gamer). Well, i guess the perfect keyboard still not here. But i'll give it a shot maybe.

Corsair revamps some of the products in their keyboard range. Meet the popular K70 MAX the all new magnetical mechanical gaming keyboard featuring fully adjustable MGX switches, acoustic sound dampening, and dedicated media controls. https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/corsair-k70-max-review,1.html
Nice to see another HE board on the market. You mention a HW profile in the review and I see a screenshot with 'onboard memory' showing on a settings window. Does it require iCue running for full functionality? At $230 it should have a controller capable of storing and handling everything onboard.

Just checked out the Corsair K70 MAX after seeing the review you linked. The adjustable MGX switches and acoustic sound dampening are really eye-catching features. Those dedicated media controls are a nice touch too! If you're into serious gaming or even just enjoy a smooth typing experience, it seems like this one could be a solid choice. The magnetic mechanical design is intriguing, offering some real customization. Might have to consider this one for my next upgrade. Thanks for sharing the review!

This I also need to know. Once the keyboard is setup, will profile(s) be available when plugged into other machines that either dont support Icue or dont have it installed? Without this its a no purchase.

I'm actually a bit excited over this for switches. It's just not available yet well in Finland. It would be perfect if it had macro keys and/or re-attachable numpad so I could use it on left side. In latter case macro keys wouldn't be needed that much. EDIT: Just ordered this(16.8.) as it became available to order here in Finland. There is extra 4-6 days delay though as they don't have the product yet in shelf.

lol, 229$. might get interested if its below 150$. i hate the icue stuff (sw issues), but at least you will only need to install/run it once, until you setup your profiles, and stored them onboard.

I also hate icue stuff(been having lots of problems with it when I used to have Corsair products last time) but at least you can save lots of profiles to keyboard so you can skip having icue always running. I am going for this because of switches and noise dampening. Dual actuation and being able to configure annuation distance for normal use are very interesting to me. I am for sure gonna turn §-key on keyboard for 2 different macros.

This is much better designed and constructed for it's price. And the software is webbased and saves to the keyboard memory on the fly. Keychron V6 QMK Custom Mechanical Keyboard Though i'd get different keycaps, SA keycaps are tall and wobbly.

Why does this read like a paid shill?

I thought the same.

Getting typing keyboard and gaming keyboard at once is awesome. I would never spent 250 euros to have a keyboard just for typing but with this one I can switch from gaming to that.

If you want a magnetic contactless switch with adjustable actuation points, there's one from a "new" company (owned by a larger company that have their hands in a lot of things apparently) called... DrunkDeer, the A75. It has nearly everything I want in a keyboard considering I don't care about wireless. A very squishy gasket mount is what could have made it great, but maybe there is some way to mod its bottom case mount. I ordered one on Amazon that was supposed have already arrived. If any of you decide to go for this board as well try to get a 20% off code first. Hopefully it ends up being adequate enough, because that'd be an "end game" keyboard for me for a long time considering I've been waiting for an HE keyboard in a form I want, and really haven't heard of anything better in development to this day. I have all the KB nerd stuff ready to mod it when it arrives.

I've got too many KBs already and I recently moved to a split board. If Wooting or some other company released a full sized split board I'd probably be tempted though.

@TheDeeGee unless my existing one breaks, shorter travel (vs the cherry reds i have), and rgb (vs red) are both not worth almost 3 times of what i paid for mine..

You mean something like this? https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q14-pro-alice-layout-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40536317362265 Or fully split like this? (would need a numpad which they also sell) https://www.keychron.com/collections/all-keyboards/products/keychron-q11-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40409509199961

Fully split or a large board like MS Natural Elite or Kinesis Advantage. The layout on the Q14 looks too cramped, nice color options though. I'm currently using a Kinesis Freestyle Edge, a layer is set for numpad use but I was able to get their mx brown numpad for cheap as well.

"robust iCue software" https://media.tenor.com/9kVkf3nXh5oAAAAC/gtfo-gtfoh.gif
Can never be stressed enough 😀. The macro portion of the software is good (with CUE anyway). With iCue being a bloated piece of junk, I never checked to see if the macro aspect improved, regressed, or was stable. It sounds like Corsair has started using better controllers for the HW.
