Final Words & Conclusion

Mini PCs strike a balance between compact design, features, and performance. While they aren't tailored for high-end gaming due to their limited graphics capabilities, they work well as efficient workstations or dependable computing solutions for students. Their small footprint ensures easy storage, making them perfect for limited-space environments. With VESA compatibility, these devices can conveniently be mounted on the back of monitors. Impressively, their capabilities continue to enhance annually.

In our performance test, the Mini IT13 showcased reliable and even solid results. The tested model, equipped with 32 GB RAM and a solid 2 TB SSD, demonstrated commendable performance under harsh conditions. Although the GEEKOM Mini IT13 is not primarily designed for gaming, as reflected in its 3DMark scores, its integrated graphics performance remains noteworthy.

Concluding

The Mini IT13 is equipped with a 13th-generation Raptor Lake processor, specifically the Intel Core i9-13900H. This processor boasts 6 performance cores (P-cores) based on the Golden Cove architecture and 8 efficient cores (E-cores) rooted in the Gracemont architecture. With Hyper-Threading support on the P-cores, the combined thread count with E-cores reaches 20. The performance cluster operates between 2.6 GHz and 5.4 GHz (with a single-core turbo peak of 5.4 GHz and an all-core peak of 4.9 GHz), while the efficiency cluster's clock rate varies between 1.9 and 4.1 GHz. The Mini PC offers a suite of features: dual USB4 TB 40 Gbps ports, compatibility with multi-display configurations up to 8K resolution, and WiFi 6E connectivity. It can handle quad display setups via two USB4 ports (supporting up to 8K@60Hz) and two HDMI 2.0 ports (capping at 4K@60Hz). On the connectivity front, it provides dual-band WiFi 6E (Intel AX211), Bluetooth 5.2, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB 2.0 port, two USB4 ports, an SD card slot, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a 2.5GbE LAN port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DC jack for its 19V power adapter (90W) accompanied by a region-specific AC cord (IEC C5), a power button, and a security slot for Kensington locks. Additionally, the device comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-loaded.

However, with a price tag of $889, the lack of HDMI 2.1a and DDR5 memory paired with the 13th gen Intel processor may reduce its attractiveness for some. Despite this, its compact design combined with a robust feature set positions it as a compelling workstation PC option. One minor drawback is the noticeable fan noise during high-load operations. On the upside, it delivers impressive single-threaded speed, initial robust multi-threaded performance which tapers to solid desktop performance after a few moments, and efficient energy consumption. The improved video engine ensures UHD YouTube and movie streams run smoothly with minimal resource usage. Given its compactness and capabilities, the Mini IT13 offers value. Available directly from the manufacturer, the reviewed model's pricing stands at $899, making it a commendable option in its category.
