Final Words & Conclusion

It’s time for the conclusion. Overall, the Hyte Y70 TOUCH is a beautiful chassis and a great evolution of the already successful Y60 model. You get more space for the graphics card or air CPU cooler, but the multitouch screen is the most important. The additional 35-millimeter width allows Hyte to squeeze in a fourth PCIe bracket for the vertical GPU mount. That was one of the major issues with the Y60 when behemoths like the RTX 4090 appeared (where some designs can occupy four slots).

The build quality is excellent. The internal layout is typical, as it’s an (E-)ATX chassis, and the E-ATX motherboard wouldn’t block the cable cutouts this time. You do not get any fans (but most probably, the customers would swap the bundled ones to their preferred ones). There’s no built-in ARGB controller or fan controller, especially the last one, which would come in handy (due to the space for up to ten fans), but you get a PCIe 4.0 riser on the other side for the vertical mount of a graphics card.

Features

There’s enough space for up to 395 mm long GPUs, 180 mm tall CPU coolers, and 230 mm long PSUs (which is a great result). You can install two 3.5” or four 2.5” drives. You can mount up to even the E-ATX board here, and that would not block the cable cutouts, like in the Y60. The size is more than enough for typical builds. Storage-wise, you’ll have a set of mounts for two 3.5” or four 2.5” drives. The liquid cooling capacity is great because you can install a 360 mm rad on the side of the case, a 360 mm one at the top (with 68 mm width), and a 120/140 mm one at the back. The I/O panel has two USB 3.0 ports, USB 3.1 Type-C, an audio jack, and a power button. The Labels on the rear are a good feature. You get the dust filter on all intake areas. There’s one unified motherboard cable plug, which makes the installation process faster. A PCIe 4.0 riser is included, which is not a standard in the competition’s offer.

Aesthetics

Looks are always a subjective matter. The design of the new Y70 TOUCH is tremendous and leaves nothing to be desired. It’s an evolution of the Y60 (similar to the Lian Li O11 Dynamic series) but differs considerably thanks to an LCD screen as a part of the three-piece panel section. There’s a lot of attention visible on the metal panels as well.

Performance

The temperatures are okay, and the bundle has no fans, so it’s hard to expect some wonders in this matter (same in the noise department).

The Verdict

The Hyte Y70 TOUCH is an (E-) ATX-compatible (spacious) mid-tower chassis (470 × 320 × 470(L × W × H)). It looks excellent, mainly thanks to the usage of the multitouch LCD screen as a part of the three-panel section. The build quality is excellent. The final build result looks very clean, also thanks to the plenty of zip-tie hooks placed internally and externally. You have no fans here in the bundle (but most probably, the customers would buy the ones they like/prefer). There’s an option to install a combo of 360+360+140 water cooling radiators. If you prefer air cooling – even the 180 mm products will fit; that should fit practically all the models. As for the power supply –it’s 230 mm (so all commonly used PSUs would work; even the 1600 W units don’t exceed 210 mm). Speaking of the storage options – you can mount two 3.5” or four 2.5” drives, which can be a drawback for some. The chassis costs 359.99 USD (which is not cheap, but rather fine considering the bundled touch screen). But is it worth it? Yes, you get outstanding quality, great features, and excellent looks. A PCIe 4.0 riser is included, which is not a standard in the competition’s offer (but it was available already in the Y60/Y40). One unified motherboard cable plug makes the installation process faster (and the assembly process is easy). But the biggest selling point is the 14.1” 1100 x 3840 capacitive touchscreen integrated into the corner panel. Y70 Touch enables easy interaction with a combined 4K 10-point multitouch capacitive LCD panel. From the negative (but not for all) sides (besides the big size of this chassis, which requires a large desk), we can list that the storage options are limited (up to four 2.5” drives). You need to buy some fans to get a decent temperature/noise level (especially since the vent design is somewhat restrictive for the airflow). Maybe it would be good to introduce a Y70 version without the touch screen but with four or five fans? (Y70 Airflow Edition?). Summing up, this is a bigger/better/more flashy (well, the screen doesn’t make such an effect) version of the already renowned Hyte Y60 that you can get in four color variants (to suit your needs/taste). Overall, it deserves a “Golden” award, although it will probably be a very niche product (due to the price) that is very eye-catching.
