AGON by AOC has introduced two new models to its G4 series of gaming monitors, the 23.8-inch 24G4XE and the 27-inch 27G4XE, as part of their AOC GAMING portfolio. These monitors are part of a series that debuted earlier this year, featuring a design inspired by stealth aircraft. The series includes height-adjustable Full HD models 24G4X and 27G4X, and the QHD model Q27G4X. The 24G4XE and 27G4XE are engineered for core gamers who seek high-performance hardware at a competitive price point. These models are simplified versions of their predecessors, offering high refresh rates of 180 Hz and response times as low as 1 ms GtG. This approach is intended to make high-performance gaming more accessible by reducing costs through a pared-down stand design that focuses solely on tilt adjustments, offering basic ergonomic support.

These monitors replace the G2 series, which was recognized for delivering excellent performance and value. The G4 series updates include a sleek black exterior with sharp angles reminiscent of a stealth aircraft, reflecting enhancements both in aesthetics and functionality. The shift from 144/165 Hz to 180 Hz in the base models aims to improve motion clarity and smoothness in gameplay.

The main difference between the new models and their predecessors is the stand design. The simplified stands reduce production costs and are ideal for users who may already have solutions like adjustable desks or monitor arms for optimizing viewing angles.

Both the 24G4XE and 27G4XE models feature Fast IPS panels with Full HD resolution (1920x1080), supporting HDR10 for vivid and lifelike visuals. They boast 300 nits of brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and include features such as a 3-sided frameless design suitable for multi-monitor setups. The monitors also support Adaptive-Sync, ensuring smooth gameplay without artifacts across variable frame rates.

Additionally, these models are versatile and designed for immersion. They include VESA 100x100 mount capabilities, allowing for custom height and angle adjustments. The intuitive OSD menu and G-Menu software provide gaming-focused modes and features such as Smart Crosshair and Shadow Control, enhancing the gaming experience.

Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DP 1.4 inputs, along with built-in 2x 2 W speakers, making these monitors capable of handling various multimedia and daily tasks. The 24G4XE and 27G4XE are set to be available from May 2024, priced at approximately £139.99 and £159.99 respectively, and come with a 3-year warranty.
