Product Showcase
The Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98offers several features found in other Asus mesh routers. However, unlike other routers that try to blend in with their surroundings, the GT-BE98 stands out with its unique 'crab or alien facehugger appearance. Whether this is desirable or not depends on personal preference. However, the GT-BE98 performance is undeniable. It delivers very fast download speeds, as you'll find out over the next few pages.

The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 features eight internal antennas with ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology, providing really good coverage. And yeah, the crab design is back :) I like that though.
The GT-BE98 thus has seven Ethernet ports, including four 2.5Gbps ports and then two 10 Gbps ports (+ one shared). The USB 3.2 port, a feature not usually seen in mainstream mesh routers, is also present in the GT-BE98.
Fortunately, setting up the GT-BE98 is straightforward, as users can select one of the units as the primary router, while the other automatically acts as the satellite unit. Both units come pre-synced and are members of Asus' AiMesh ecosystem. Alternatively, each unit can function as a standalone router, suitable for homes where a single router is sufficient for wireless connectivity. It features a distinctive RGB logo called the "Aura RGB logo", along with slashed vents. It also has top and bottom air vents that align with the heatsinks for optimal convection and heat dissipation.
The GT-BE98 is priced at approximately $799-$849 is very high, but as you'll see, might be worth it as the basis for your network infrastructure including all multi-gig ethernet connectivity.
