Control Software

The Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard from Asus features enhanced lighting effects. With its recent series, the keyboard's lighting capabilities have been updated. The Strix Scope II 96 Wireless offers a single layer of key customization, where secondary keybinds are accessible through the Fn key and are not modifiable. Its 96% layout accommodates numerous keys, yet may not meet the needs of users seeking intricate configurations, particularly for gaming. Anyway, the software then. For adjusting the RGB lighting and other aspects, Asus supplies dedicated software though their Armory Crate software. The Aura Sync technology governs individual key lighting effects. Additionally, Asus presents the Armory Crate software to assist in configuring the Omni Receiver for multiple Asus peripherals using one dongle and customizing the scroll wheel.

We're not a fan of armoury crate software, it's slow, sluggish and buggy. And yeah we had occasional issues with the Armory Crate software. Also ASUS is really keen to tie you to their account service, while not mandatory, it became something rather irritation to see pop-up.  Overall the software provides various features, like macros, per-key RGB lighting, and key remapping, and is compatible with Aura Sync for coordinating with other Asus items.

Also many frequent software updates have been highlighted as a potential drawback for some users. Generally, after updating the software for ROG peripherals, users might not often use it. For the Strix Scope II 96 Wireless, the primary functions of the Armory Crate include pairing the ROG OMNI receiver with devices, applying firmware updates, and setting initial customizations.

Outside of gaming, the keyboard's features are advantageous. The scroll wheel provides enhanced page navigation, and the on-the-fly macro recording helps in automating repetitive phrases. The built-in numpad eliminates the need to use the number row.
