Well, until Windows DXR support is actually available out of experimental release...

I really doubt even 1% of people who would play the cracked game would even be able to take advantage of RTX. It's much more likely to have technical trouble of its own or because of MS making a mess of 1809's launch.
That will be me, 2080Ti owner and do enjoy cracked games, sadly i pre-ordered this specific game so i own it legally. I own 689 games on steam and maybe finished 3, so i do prefer to download cracked version to make me feel like i have if i want it, 99% of the time i wont play it either.

Maybe they shouldn't have announced a feature based on an experimental release.

This, just like with Fermi vs Kepler. xD, Kepler actually made sense for dx11 (full GK110).
What does this even mean.

Everything. edit: Let me write it again ... Turing is now what Fermi was to Kepler back in the days, a ok GPU, but when it came to raw dx11 power Kepler was the king and you could actually run it at reasonable resolution with details to the max. Same thing now Turing and rtx. Next rtx GPU will fix what sucked by Turing. Slow rtx obviously.

Everything.
Amazing.

I do not blame you. A lot of people do pirate for similar reasons. I had few legal games before I had my own income. But since then I try not to be disappointed and so I skip questionable games. So, my steam library has only ~260. Few dozens on origin/UBI/EA together. And some DRM free things from GOG. For me, there are games I really want and I think they will be good, I buy them. Sometimes it is total failure. Then there are those which are not good enough to pay for, but instead of pirating, I'll check gameplay on youtube. (Usually SP games with good enough story.) And rest of games can burn.

Lol geniuses, you can't crack RTX because Microsoft has failed hard on their October patch which is required for RTX features to work at all (implementation into DX). Thats why there is no news whatsoever from any corner about RTX, for or against.

1809 works fine for me. they haven't failed, unless they failed you in some way...

That feature works outside Windows and Microsoft API (through Vulkan and Optix) but game devs made game for Windows and use Microsoft API...

MS did fail very badly with 1809. But maybe you missed those multiple causes for missing files... For me, I do not like W10 wince Game Mode introduction. It surely is great for gaming, but once GPU is fully utilized, secondary content requiring GPU suffers badly... even youtube playback in browser with HW acceleration starts to stutters or completely freezes video (audio goes on). It is windows scheduler thing. Going back to older version without Game mode fixes it even on newest drivers. I have APU on 1803 where I play only light stuff, so having playback on 2nd screen is OK. But primary system is currently on 1809_2019H1 and it is even worse than 1809_2018-October, which is worse than April release. MS is taking good multitasking OS and turning it into Gaming Console OS. It surely has some advantages, but it is PITA for some people too. Side note: World is bigger than you, it is bigger than any of us.

i didn't miss the complaints, i just don't believe they were wide spread enough to cause a failure.

That's one way to look at it. Surely, there are people who think that wars are not wide spread enough to be called bad. Not enough of deployed soldiers died to call operation failure... 1809 deployment had introduced new issues which did cost hundreds of thousands of man-hours of work. Either in repairs or completely thrown away. I call that double failure. Because every hour you spend fixing something they broke is one hour you are not earning yourself. (But too many people do not see that because they do not value their private time.) And then you have small businesses which do not have their own deployment servers and updates/upgrades are handled by MS. At times of Windows 7, it was good idea to have Windows for office pencil-pushers. Today with Windows 10, I would be afraid to have any kind of data processed and stored locally on workstations/laptops.

comparing a glitch to a war is total hyperbole and i really still don't see it being a big failure when hardly anyone reported having these issues. i mean the news post dedicated to it only made it to page 3 and most of it didn't involve anyone who had the problem.

As I wrote: "World is bigger than you, it is bigger than any of us." I'll paraphrase it one more time in saying: "You can't care less that it harms others? Don't be surprised that they will not care for you once you have troubles."

i would just really like to point out that, that paraphrase doesn't prove it to be a big failure.

Well for the RTX to be usefull you need gamers to get the 2080ti to begin with xD ordered the 20th september and still waiting to be available anywhere in my country (Switzerland) At least you can remain neutral in opinion as you have no 1st hand experience. https://forums.guru3d.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/biggrin.png With that kind of wait times, I hope you'll have no issues. Just got delayed to december, great xD

You initially did not mark it as failure at all. Nice change in tone. But MS itself made statement clear enough when they stopped deployment.

I.... somehow doubt that still 😀 It will run DXR better, no doubt, but we're still far from 60fps at 4K it should offer... or 60fps RTX DLSS running on a 4K display, that is. Doesn't change anything about pricing, sadly, since I'd bet money on the "2180Ti" still being way above 1000$ MSRP.
