crack is around the corner - i bet you they are trying to delay that patch for after the crack so that version will become un-crackable again... they are screwing the paying costumers

I really doubt even 1% of people who would play the cracked game would even be able to take advantage of RTX. It's much more likely to have technical trouble of its own or because of MS making a mess of 1809's launch.

That seems like a likely reason. RTX requires 1809, and thats still not out yet to the broad consumer base. They could release the patch earlier, but they might as well keep it baking a bit longer to make sure it works.

Me neither, as the whole release feels like one big "Beta Test" of this so-called "new gen", both in regards to hardware and software. Oh, an "Early Acess" price tag of course!

So many people waiting their framerate to be cut in half or more. 😀

This reminds me of Deus Ex MD hype train for DX12 and how long it actually took before it was fully implemented by which time everyone had completed it already

Well for the RTX to be usefull you need gamers to get the 2080ti to begin with xD ordered the 20th september and still waiting to be available anywhere in my country (Switzerland)

At least you can remain neutral in opinion as you have no 1st hand experience. 😀 With that kind of wait times, I hope you'll have no issues.

I've been on 1809 for several weeks without a single problem--the "file deletion" thing I never saw--and as to why they haven't released it to the general audience, I really don't know. It's rock-stable for me, and I have *a lot* of games installed. Indeed, I just got a cumulative update yesterday taking 1809 to build 17763.107--works fine. I'm guessing that nVidia says this because of an addition to D3d12 to support its RTX feature? Can't think of any other reason, and it surely seems as if either nVidia or the game dev could release a small d3d patch to tide their customers over on RTX until the official release of 1809. At any rate, I will be very surprised if it will supply any rendering at all which cannot be done with rasterization. But for the sake of those who did part with a pretty penny just for this feature, I hope that will not be the case!

I have a feeling that when RTX actually becomes a thing (well, if it becomes a thing), the RTX refresh GPUs are going to be out. Hi RTX 2180 Ti, 2180 and 2170. Oh, you bought the first gen of those? Ohhh. Well, sucks to be you. *sad face*

Been using 1809 since it came out. Haven't noticed anything specific problems for this build. Just the usual problems that are always in win10.

This, just like with Fermi vs Kepler. xD, Kepler actually made sense for dx11 (full GK110).

I bought the 2080ti for its ability to hold 60fps on ultra setting at 4k and improved vr performance. Ray tracing is really just an added bonus that I probably would only play around with then ignore for a few generations until 4k ray tracing is possible. They can take as long as they need as far as I'm concerned.
