Hi everybody!
Can one of the lucky guys that bought a MSI 970 Gaming OC answer me something really important?
How silent are those cards? I´ve read that they turn off the fans when we aren´t gaming and that under gaming they are nearly silent, is that true?
For me this is more important than overclocking better than other cards.
Thanks for the answers in advance!!!

Looks like im grabbing 2x of these when they back in stock (expected Tuesday), as my board should do em in SLi. 😀
I was thinking about just grabbing another 290 when the prices drop again, but i reckon they'd be too hot, as my single ones already hitting 80-85 (in a Phantom 820 as well), so 2x would no doubt push temps right up, plus the 970s would use way less power as well, as 2x of them in SLi, would only use slightly more than my single 290, or maybes not, as im probably over the rated 250w with it overclocked to 1080/1300.

I told you man. Those sli cards you listed were out around the time when your mb was released.

Seen quite a difference in idle temps from different reviews, any idea why, seems quite amazing that some show idle @ 30, while others show 40-50, is the passive until load disabled in some reviews?

Would 2x of these in SLi be worth it then ?, specs on left, will be in 1080p, 144Hz, and would be able to use 3D Vision, only sticking point is, my 920s only at 2.90Ghz.

Is 1501 Core in the OC results of the review a typo? The Giga they reviewed hit a higher boost (1516), but it's core OCed to 1328. It can do that on stock volts. I prefer a cooler OC that promotes long life. It also runs 8c cooler than the MSI.
And if it isn't a typo, why would it be 1501 core AND boost? It kinda seems like the results you get when you use Nvidia Inspector to disable boost and use a fixed clock speed. http://www.overclock.net/t/1267918/guide-nvidia-inspector-gtx670-680-disable-boost-fixed-clock-speed-undervolting
Anyways, kinda leaning toward the Giga because I tried an MSI 660 Ti OC some time ago, and in the process of finding it was having HDCP detection issues with my Panasonic TV, and rendering BSOD when switching from TV to PC, MSI was just horrible at CS.
