Introducing the Reserator 1 Pluslinkbuttonbot.jpg

The package tested today is the Reserator 1 Plus as manufactured by Zalman. This is the newest model. The Plus version follows Zalman's principle of HCET (High Capacity Extrusion Technique) technology, high efficiency cooling technology, and optimal heat dissipation design for extraordinary cooling performance even through natural convection cooling. Yes that's a mouth full isn't it? What you need to understand is that the Reserator 1 Plus is a fanless water cooling system that unites the functions of a reservoir, radiator, and water pump into one system for easy operation. It is anodized and comes with a custom (included) coolant to prevent corrosion. The water blocks included are the new CPU Water Block (ZM-WB3 Gold), VGA Water Block (ZM-GWB2), and (as an optional extra) a Northbridge Water Block (ZM-NWB1). This enables the setup of a complete water cooling system.

When we open up the huge box we see a large bundle for sure. Everything you need is in the box, carefully packaged, even some coolant.

What's in the box?

  • The Reserator 1 Unit (reservoir, radiator, and water pump into one system)
  • CPU Water Block kit (ZM-WB3 Gold), includes screws, washers, socket brackets, clamps etc)
  • VGA Water Block kit (ZM-GWB2), includes screws, washers, clamps, etc)
  • Coolant
  • Flow indicator
  • Quick Coupling inserts
  • Tubing  I/O bracket
  • 4 meters of silicone tubing
  • Flow indicator.
  • Spare parts - Sealing Bolt 1EA, Cable Fitting 1EA, etc

This is just a short summary of all components. Over the next few pages you'll notice that everything you'll need is included. For example, the cooling system is bundled with a water block for the GPU, yet what you also receive are heatsinks for the graphics memory chips. It's the little extras that makes this kit a really good value.

So is everybody ready? Here we go then.

Warning - Over the next pages you'll find dozens of photo's. If you are on a dialup connection please bear in mind it can take a while to load up as we'll have four good resolution photo's per page. This is a broadband site, please consider moving to cable or DSL if available in your region.

In the photo shoot we'll show you all the components. After which we'll build a system and then take it for a test spin followed by our conclusion.

Enjoy ;)
