PixelView GeForce FX 5900 XT GL - Page 7 - Unreal Tournament 2004

Tweet Unreal Tournament 2004
Added into our wide benchmark suite is Unreal Tournament 2004. The developers of UT2004 don't want to split hairs with this game. It is still using the same engine and the majority of gameplay elements will be very familiar to players of the 2003 version. If you hated the first game, you'll probably hate this. Sorry, but that's how it is. This large-scale, vehicle-focused game concentrates and focuses the action so that 12 players can have as much fun as 32. One popular mode, Onslaught, has each team with a power core that they need to protect. Between the teams' power cores are a number of smaller power nodes that are scattered across the map.

Buggies, hovercraft, tanks, trucks, space fighters, air fightersÂ… all feature prominently in Unreal Tournament 2004 and huge maps have been made to accommodate them.

Basically what we did was record three timedemo botmatch maps, we ran all three on set resolutions with Maximum detail settings enabled and the results were then compiled into an average.

UT 2004 1024x768 1280x1024 1600x1200
FX5500 49 33 27
5700U GDDR3 98 71 59
5900 XT 116 95 81
485/950 120 112 101
5950 ULTRA 119 109 100
6800U 124 124 123

For the sake of comparison we also included some other graphics cards in here. In blue you'll see the results at default driver setting thus non overclocked or tweaked. In red you can read out the results of the graphics card when overclocked. 5900 XT is of course the tested GeForce FX 5900 XT and so on.

Let's have a look at some image quality options and enable 8x Anisotropic Filtering and 4x Antialiasing:

4xAA 8xAF 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 1600x1200
5700U GDDR3 87 64 43 35
5900 XT 104 84 60 46
6800U 120 119 116 104

At 8xAF and 4xAA we can see some really impressive numbers here. Even 1600x1200x32 gameplay remains just fine.

Prolink PixelView GeForce 6600 Ultimate review
Another week another GeForce 6600 review. And I'm afraid this will continue to do so for the next couple of weeks. The GeForce 6600 is hitting the market hard as this is going to be a graphics card that is affordable yet offers some really good value for it's money. Today's product review is no less of that.. Last week we received a new sample from the good folks of Prolink, a company with a reputation to do things differently. Plasma cooling, PDF technology are two thing that come to mind immediately.

PixelView GeForce FX 5900 XT GL
One of the most successful products in the GeForce FX line-up from NVIDIA has to be the GeForce FX 5900 XT. You simply can't go wrong with this product can't you. It offers the full 5900 series architecture and thus a big proportion of that high-end performance yet the product is extremely affordable. It's one of those, 'most bang for your bucks' graphics cards. When you take that fact and a manufacturer like Prolink which has a reputation for building high-quality and stylish designed graphics cards well then the end result must be staggering ..

Prolink PixelView GeForce FX 5700 review
So, today's product we are going to review is the Prolink GeForce FX 5700 armed with video in/out, 256 MB memory and a sub 25dB cooling solution which is equipped with something that is called PDF, no note the Adobe one, it's called Plasma Display Fan. I hear you say .. 'Say waah ?' Hey don't ask me either .. plasma ?
