The MSI R6850 Cyclone Power Edition is based on MSI's military class component selection including the new SFC (Super Ferrite) chokes. The card looks robust and well built. It has 6 phases available on the GPU area and another phase for its full Gigabyte of memory.

The card comes factory clocked for you at a nice 860 MHz on the core and 4400 MHz on the memory (affective data rate). MSI recently as well submitted their P67 based motherboard for a preview, and once launched a review. Powered by Intel's P67 chipset, the motherboards come with two PCIe slots with NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFire support, featuring what MSI now calls a Military Class II design that makes use of a six phase power SFC choke setup.

Activision Blizzard has added Electronic Arts as a new target in its lawsuit against two former executives responsible for the Call of Duty series. The game publisher also put a price tag of $400 million on its claim.

The amended complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court is the latest salvo in a legal shootout that began when Jason West and Vince Zampella sued Activision for $36 million in March, claiming Activision fired them to avoid paying royalties for their work on the "Call of Duty" franchise.

Activision, owned by France's Vivendi SA, claims EA lured the men away, starting as early as July 2009, despite their having two years left on their contract, in part by using talent agency Creative Artists Agency as an intermediary. It alleges EA dispatched a private jet to Southern California to shuttle West and Zampella to a secret meeting at the home of EA's chief executive John Riccitiello near San Francisco in August 2009.

The two later formed Respawn Entertainment, hiring about 40 employees away from Activision. Respawn said in April it will create games exclusively for release by EA.

Sources at laptop and motherboard makers told DigiTimes that AMD's marketshare may see a significant boost next year thanks to the introduction of the company's first Fusion chips.

Mainly because AMD's Fusion series APUs to be launched in early 2011 have strong graphics capabilities and high performance/cost ratios, AMD is expected to see its global market share for notebook platforms alone rise from 11% in 2010 to 15% in 2011 and that for notebook, desktop and server platforms together from 20% to 25% and may advance further to 30% in 2012, according to Taiwan-based notebook and motherboard makers.

The sources believe that strong performance/cost ratio as well as low power consumption will give AMD an advantage in the netbook segment and boost its overall processor market share.
