Radeon HD 5870 to be priced aggresive

Graphics Cards 1673 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Guru3D.com ImageRumors are all over the web regarding the pending release of ATI's Radeon 5800 series DX11 class graphics cards. We 'think' that the first released card will be the Radeon HD 5870 which is developed under codename Cypress.

From what we heard is that this card will be lined up directly against the GeForce GTX 285 pricing wise, the rumor is that this high-end DX11 class graphics card will get a pricetag of 299 USD.

Though I personally doubt it a little given the issues with the 40nm node, there is a a rumor that this graphics card would be based on a 40nm fabrication process.

1GB GDDR5 memory ATI Eyefinity technology with support for up to three displays ATI Stream technology Designed for DirectCompute 5.0 and OpenCL Accelerated Video Transcoding (AVT) Compliant with DirectX 11 and earlier revisions, supports OpenGL 3.1 ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU support for highly scalable performance ATI Avivo HD video and display technology Dynamic power management with ATI PowerPlay technology 2x DL-DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI PCI Express 2.0 interface

Once thing is certain, we look very much forward top this new product release, whatever and how fast it may be, it looks like the shader processor count might be doubled up by the way.

Bring it on we say !

Microsoft to offer Windows 7 upgrade version in EU

Generic News 1994 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Good news for a couple of EU based countries. Microsoft blogger Brandon LeBlanc has some updates on Windows 7 in Europe. First up, he reveals that Microsoft has expanded the Family Pack to the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden.

Due to the decision to include a ballot screen in Windows 7, Microsoft decided to cancel the special European editions, instead Europeans will receive the same version of Windows 7 as the rest of the world. Therefore, upgrade versions of Windows 7 will also be offered in Europe, but unfortunately this also means that the pricing of Windows 7 will have to be readjusted as Microsoft previously planned to offer the full editions of Windows 7 at upgrade prices in Europe.
As well as allowing for a Family Pack offer, it means that we are now able to have an upgrade version of Windows 7 available in Europe at launch. Windows 7 retail boxes will be available in both Full and Upgrade versions via pre-orders through Microsoft online stores where available and our retail partners starting September 1st and at General Availability on October 22. We will, however, continue to make Windows 7 N versions available that does not include Windows Media Player.

For customers who have already pre-ordered the full version of Windows 7 E in the EU

Littman Electronic Stethoscope

Generic News 1994 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Not only in our enthusiast PC world hardware evolves continuously, but the medical sector always is fast with development as well. This one just makes sense when you think about it.

The stethoscope is one indispensable tool that a doctor possesses, and the 3M Littman Electronic Stethoscope aims to bring a whole new dimension to practicing doctors by helping them diagnose various health conditions better, thanks to features including noise cancellation and sound augmentation.

Of course, it does help if the doctor has pretty good hearing to begin with, but that's not something major worth griping about. The 3M Littman Electronic Stethoscope not only enables one to hear better, it also can record both heart and lung sounds in selected files, allowing software such as Zargis Stethassist to determine beating patterns and any irregularities that crop up. Surely the $379 price tag shouldn't come in the way of doctors doing their job better.
