Sabrent has revealed plans to showcase its latest PCIe 5.0 SSD, the Rocket 5 Plus, at CES 2024, boasting speeds surpassing 14GB/s. This announcement follows the recent disclosure by controller manufacturer Phison regarding their exhibition of the PS5026-E26 Max14um solution at the same event, capable of achieving sustained sequential read speeds of up to 14.7 GB/s. Earlier reports highlighted Phison's demonstration of the PS5026-E26 Max14um PCIe 5.0 SSD solution as early as August of the current year.  Testing revealed that this solution could attain speeds of 14.2 GB/s on the Z790 motherboard and 14.7 GB/s on the X670E motherboard. Additionally, it showcased impressive random read and write speeds, recording 1500K and 1600K IOPS, respectively.

In the August demonstrations, Phison utilized the AirJet Mini cooling system developed by Frore Systems. This innovative cooling technology employs micro-vibrating membranes to create airflow, functioning as a solid-state active cooling system. Sabrent's upcoming product is also expected to integrate this advanced cooling technology to manage the thermal demands of high-speed operations.
