Memory options have been upgraded from the previous generation's LPDDR4x to the more energy-efficient LPDDR5, available in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB configurations. In terms of connectivity and expansion, the Orange Pi 5 Pro includes:
- An M-Key M.2 2280 interface supporting SATA or PCIe 2.0x1 NVMe SSDs.
- A 40-pin expansion interface which provides a greater number of GPIO pins compared to the 26-pin interface used on previous models.
- Dual HDMI outputs (1x HDMI 2.1 and 1x HDMI 2.0).
- Multiple USB ports, including three USB 2.0 Type-A and one USB 3.1 Type-A.
- A MIPI DSI interface for displays.
- A Gigabit Ethernet port supporting POE (Power Over Ethernet).
- A 3.5mm headphone jack, and a selection between SPI FLASH and eMMC for storage.
- Support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Operating system compatibility includes OrangePi OS, Ubuntu, Android 12, Debian, among others, allowing for versatile applications across various user preferences. Regarding pricing in the domestic market: The OrangePi 5 Pro 4GB version is priced at approximately $72, and the 8GB version at about $94. The top-end 16GB model is available for approximately $124.
