ASUS has launched the GeForce RTX 4070 Turbo, a graphics card designed for the performance market. This card features a lateral blower-type cooling system, optimized for environments with restricted airflow, such as multi-card AI processing setups. The card's design is compact, with a two-slot thickness and a height of 11.1 cm, conforming to standard addon card dimensions. Its length is 26.9 cm, and it omits a backplate to potentially provide additional space for adjacent cards. The placement of the single 8-pin PCIe power connector at the card's end rather than the top is intended to offer extra clearance. The cooling mechanism of the ASUS Turbo RTX 4070 comprises a copper base-plate that transfers heat to an aluminum channel stack, cooled by a lateral blower with a dual ball-bearing system for enhanced endurance.

The RTX 4070 GPU at the core of the card meets NVIDIA's reference specifications, featuring a 2475 MHz boost frequency and a 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory speed. The card includes 12 GB of GDDR6X memory, connected through a 192-bit memory bus. The card is equipped with two  switches:

  1. The "Turbo" switch, which bypasses software fan control for a more aggressive fan curve, potentially reaching 100% speed.
  2. The VM_SW switch, which allows users to select between "Quiet" and "Performance" modes. However, the method of this switching mechanism, whether through dual-BIOS or a physical toggle for ASUS GPU Tweak software, is not clarified.

As of its release, ASUS has not provided pricing details for the GeForce RTX 4070 Turbo graphics card.
