ASUS has initiated the deployment of beta UEFI firmware updates for its Socket AM5 motherboards, incorporating the latest AMD AGESA 1.1.0.1 microcode. Notably, this marks ASUS's response following ASRock's recent firmware release featuring AGESA 1.1.0.0. These updates represent ASUS's commitment to accommodating the forthcoming Ryzen 8000G "Phoenix" and "Phoenix 2" desktop APUs, making it the fourth AGESA release to provide such support. Version ComboAM5PI 1.1.0.1 encompasses an updated iteration of the System Management Unit (SMU) tailored for "Phoenix" and "Phoenix 2," specifically SMU version 76.75.0. This stands in contrast to the earlier ComboAM5PI 1.1.0.0 released by ASRock in November, which featured SMU version 76.72.0.

ASUS is exclusively rolling out the UEFI firmware updates containing AGESA ComboAM5PI 1.1.0.1 for AMD B650/E and X670/E chipset motherboards. These updates are available across the company's product lines, including ROG, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, and ProArt. Notably absent from this release are updates for the Prime series. These updates are currently in beta stage. Moreover, users with Ryzen 7000 "Raphael" processors will not experience any benefits from these updates, as the SMU for "Raphael" has remained unchanged since ComboAM5PI 1.0.8.0. To access these firmware updates, users should navigate to the Support section of their motherboard's product pages on the ASUS website.
