BenQ introduced the GV31, a new addition to its "GV" series of ceiling theater projectors. This model follows the GV30 and integrates several advancements. Set for a release on September 29, 2023, the GV31 carries a retail price tag of 110,900 yen, inclusive of tax, and is also enhanced with Android TV, officially compatible with Netflix.

One of the defining technical updates in the GV31 is its resolution, which now stands at full HD 1,080p. The design of the projector is distinctive, characterized by a circular body accompanied by a rotating lens. This lens facilitates a 135° multi-angle adjustment, granting users the ability to project images directly onto the ceiling, optimizing viewing experiences without the requirement for external equipment such as tripods.

Similar to its predecessor, the GV30, the GV31 integrates features like autofocus and automatic keystone correction to maintain clear, distortion-free projections. A notable utility is its built-in battery, capable of providing around 180 minutes of continuous content playback.

Highlighting the technical attributes of the GV31, it showcases a resolution of 1,080p, projects with a brightness of 300 ANSI lumens, and incorporates various connectivity options like USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio port. Its power supply is adaptable to USB PD input at 45W (while offering an 18W output) and includes a Wi-Fi speaker mode, enhancing its range of functionalities.

Physically, the GV31 has dimensions of 131.3mm in width, 191.4mm in depth, and 203.2mm in height, and it weighs around 1.7kg. A specialized carrying case for this projector model is planned for an October launch.
