ASRock Unveils Two Intel Z790 Gaming Motherboards: Z790 NOVA WiFi and Z790 Lightning WiFi

ASRock has introduced the Z790 NOVA WiFi and Z790 Lightning WiFi, both powered by the Intel Z790 chipset. These motherboards are set to hit the market on October 17th. The flagship model, "Z790 NOVA WiFi," falls under the esteemed "Phantom Gaming" series, catering to gaming enthusiasts.



Featuring a robust 20+1+1 phase power supply circuit employing SPS technology and utilizing "20K black capacitors," it also boasts a tool-less M.2 heatsink for effortless installation and removal. Key specifications include four DDR5-7800+ memory slots (up to 192GB), one Blazing M.2 slot, five Hyper M.2 slots, and four SATA 3.0 ports. Expansion slots comprise one PCI Express 5.0 (x16), one PCI Express 4.0 (x16), and one PCI Express 3.0 (x1). Audio duties are handled by the Realtek ALC4082 chip, while connectivity options include 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth support.



In contrast, the "Z790 Lightning WiFi" serves as an entry-level offering within the "Phantom Gaming" series. It features a 16+1+1 phase power supply circuit with Dr.MOS technology and shares the convenience of a tool-less M.2 heatsink. Its core specifications encompass four DDR5-7600+ memory slots (up to 192GB), three Hyper M.2 slots, and six SATA 3.0 ports. Expansion slots include one PCI Express 5.0 (x16), one PCI Express 4.0 (x16), and two PCI Express 3.0 (x1). Audio support is provided by the Realtek ALC897 chip, while networking options consist of 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth compatibility.
