The heat sink retention bracket does not fit into the nForce 790 SLI motherboard. If you look to your left you'll notice that the passive cooler for mosfets and voltage regulators is blocking it completely.
As such, at this stage we can not secure the cooler and tighten the thumbscrews. This cooler needs a lot of space alright.
As a result to make it fit I had to drill away the outer edges of the retention bracket. And while not the most charming thing to do ..it does work and it is what it is really.
Once that was done, we could place the heatsink and secure the bracket with the four supplied thumb-screws. Then the last thing we must do is to mount the fan.
And there we have the test setup ready to be connected towards the rest of the peripherals.
