Installation #3 Software

This ladies and gentlemen is the complete hardware installation. Once we have turned on the PC the Palmbutler becomes active. We now are going to install the Palmbutler software. The installation is pretty self-explanatory. I recommend you to get the latest software update from the PalmButler site though. Once installed the PalmButler software will seek all connected hardware. A requester will pop up asd ask you to a two-button combo on the wireless remote and after seconds the remote has been accepted and integrated into the software. By that time the PalmButler software also will have found the LinkBox and remote wireless module.

The next step is to determine of you graphics cards allows switching between PC-monitor and TV-OUT by remote. Most modern graphics cards work just fine. All Radeon and GeForce based cards should be working okay. If PalmButler however does not recognize your graphics card you'd need to switch the PC towards TV Output manually with a key-combo on the PC. We tested this with a GeForce4 Ti 4200 and it worked like a charm. The latest software update has support for all current graphics cards.

Now to get music and movies on your radio and TV we need to set a channel. On your radio/receiver scan for an empty spot in the ether. For me that was 105.10 FM, on the television channel 35 was completely empty (snow).

In the PalmButler software you now go towards 'Channel Adjustment'. Here you select your country and you fill in the Radio and TV frequency that we just determined as empty, in my case Netherlands, Radio 105.1 and TV at channel 35.
