We present energy consumption data for the entire PC, which includes the motherboard, processor, graphics card, memory, and SSD. The consumption figures can vary depending on the specific motherboard features (such as added ICs, controllers, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth) and the efficiency of the PSU. It's essential to note that we measure the power consumption of the WHOLE PC, not just the processor. Your typical PC's energy usage might differ from our measurements if you include components like optical drives, HDDs, sound cards, and more. Furthermore, given the popularity of RGB lighting, the combined power consumption of RGB-equipped motherboards, keyboards, liquid coolers, and mice can easily add an extra 10 to 15 watts.

To further clarify, power consumption measurements can vary based on the specific PC and its setup. Beyond the primary components, motherboards might be equipped with additional ICs such as audio controllers, third-party chips, network controllers, extra NVMe and USB controllers, and more. All these components contribute to the overall power consumption, making our results a general guide rather than an absolute figure. Moreover, our tests involve stressing all CPU cores to 100%, reflecting peak power consumption. In typical use cases, unless you're transcoding video with appropriate software, the average power consumption will likely be much lower.
