The Corsair K55 CORE keyboard integrates with Corsair's iCUE software, offering a detailed customization platform. This platform enables users to configure key mappings, program macros, and customize the keyboard's RGB lighting according to their preferences.

iCUE has been updated to a modular system in the past year, allowing for a minimal initial download that expands to include only the necessary components for connected devices. The customization capabilities of the K55 CORE, like other Corsair products, depend on the iCUE software.

This software initiates an automatic download of required modules when the keyboard is first connected, enhancing the setup process for users, particularly those engaged in PC gaming. This setup facilitates the remapping of keys and media controls, although the keyboard itself does not support multiple onboard profiles.

Instead, users can leverage the comprehensive Key Assignments feature within iCUE for customization. The keyboard also offers RGB lighting across ten zones, which users can manage through iCUE. Options include adjusting the brightness or turning off the lighting, with a specific key dedicated to these functions. A distinctive feature is the lighting strip along the keyboard's lower edge, which provides a soft illumination on the desk area.
