The Corsair K55 CORE RGB Gaming Keyboard incorporates advanced features beyond the conventional keyset, enhancing both functionality and user experience. The keyboard can store a single lighting profile in its onboard memory for use across different sessions, with profile toggling available via Corsair's iCUE software.

The keyboard also includes dedicated media controls positioned in the top-right corner, a Windows lock button for disabling specific keys during gaming, and a button for adjusting the lighting brightness or turning it off entirely. The non-mechanical keys provide a quiet typing experience with some tactile feedback, though they do not match the responsiveness of linear mechanical switches. Nevertheless, the keyboard's key shapes and spacing are designed to deliver a comfortable and tactile typing experience, avoiding the common "mushy" feel of non-mechanical keyboards.

Design-wise, the keyboard features rubber feet and an adjustable height stand to enhance stability during use. The keycaps' matte finish helps in maintaining a smooth, fingerprint-resistant surface. The keyboard is designed to be spill-resistant, capable of withstanding up to 300mL of liquid, thereby enhancing its durability.

On the underside, the keyboard is equipped with two tilt feet to adjust the typing angle and features aesthetic elements such as a glossy logo and engraved lines. However, it lacks cable management solutions, and the small holes present serve as drainage ports rather than for underglow lighting, reinforcing the spill-resistant design.

Above the numeric pad, the keyboard offers a dial with four buttons for volume and track control, enabling seamless media adjustments during gameplay. Two additional buttons next to the media dial manage backlight brightness and Windows key locking, which can be customized via the Corsair iCue app for added functionality, including macro key assignments. The RGB backlighting is segmented into 10 zones, all configurable through the iCue software, which also facilitates synchronization with other compatible Corsair devices.
