Final Words & Conclusion

The Beelink SER5 Pro, equipped with a 45W tdp based Ryzen 7 5800H processor, is among the more impressive micro PCs we've reviewed, considering its low power usage. This micro PC is highly recommended for those who don't require a high-end machine but prefer a compact unit measuring just over 12cm. Its integrated GPU design even supports casual gaming and everyday computing tasks. The SER5 Pro is driven by an AMD Ryzen R7 5800H processor, which boasts 8 cores, 16 threads, and a clock speed reaching up to 4.4 GHz (we observed 4.5 GHz on two cores). The embedded GPU is also a robust Radeon IGP (Vega 8) with a clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz. The micro PC is compatible with high-speed M.2 NVMe SSDs and can accommodate one SATA III SSD. It offers two HDMI ports and 4K resolution support. Beelink includes 16 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz dual-channel memory (CL22) and a moderately fast 500 GB Crucial SSD (read speeds up to ~3500 MB/sec). One of the primary challenges for mini PCs is efficient heat dissipation. While the SER5 Pro employs proper cooling technology to enhance thermals, it can become noisy under heavy load. The noise level can be compared to an older laptop—some may find it bothersome, while others may not. In our tests, the acoustic pressure did not exceed 36 dBa, but high-pitched sounds tend to be more noticeable (but not bothersome) to your ears.

Efficient Performance and Allround Connectivity

Effortlessly handling everyday tasks like using office applications, browsing the web, and streaming 4K video content, this device is a versatile performer. It also excels in editing still images through programs like Photoshop. It boasts WiFi 6 (AX) and Bluetooth 5.2 and provides fast and reliable wireless connectivity for seamless performance. The NVMe SSD further enhances the device's capabilities, operating at a speed of 3.5 GB/sec. The processor is powerful and nimble, aptly suited for a range of tasks, while the integrated GPU demonstrates impressive capabilities for an integrated solution. Though it may not surpass dedicated low-end GPUs like the GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1650, it still holds its own.

Concluding

The Beelink SER5 Pro configuration delivers very acceptable CPU performance, quick storage, and 16 GB RAM, all at a competitive price. This device is ideal for office tasks, light photo and video editing, and gaming. With no compromises on quality components, efficient power consumption, and the inclusion of the latest Windows 11 Pro, the Beelink SER5 Pro is well worth its price. The SER5 Pro offers upgradeable options such as SODIMM and dual storage. For those looking to save a few hundred dollars, the Beelink SER5 Pro should be a top consideration. The device can easily handle daily computing needs and play Full HD games with low to medium graphics settings. However, the noise level can be a downside; when the CPU load increases, the unit emits a 35-36 DBa high-pitched noise due to the small fans, reminiscent of an older laptop. Though not severe, the noise is audible. Besides that, the price makes the Beelink SER5 Pro a worthy contender in the high-performance compact computing market. Priced at approximately $450, the SER5 Pro comes fully loaded with 16GB RAM, 500GB storage, and a licensed copy of Windows 11 Pro.
