The cooler arrives in a recognizable designed package featuring Be Quiet!'s signature black, white, and orange design. Nestled within are two Silent Wings fans.

Upon unboxing, you'll immediately notice the comprehensive cooling unit. It comprises the heatsink assembly, fans, and supportive brackets, along with a back plate compatible with an extensive array of AMD and Intel processors. The unit's imposing stature is unmistakable; it's a formidable cooler both in size and appearance, weighing in at 1.29kg.

While it supports a vast spectrum of Intel and AMD processors, including Socket compatibility Intel 1700 / 1200 / 1150 / 1151 / 1155 and for AMD AM5 / AM4 (but not Threadripper). A modest amount of thermal paste is also provided in the package. Notably, this cooler can handle up to 270W.

Seven copper-based heat pipes, arranged in a U-shaped configuration, are discernible. The heat is effectively channelled away from the CPU through these pipes, distributing it across two radiator units. The fin stack's placement not only centralizes the fan but also ensures RAM compatibility. A sleek black paint and top lid envelop the entire unit, raising its aesthetics.

The Dark Rock Pro 5 shares the integrated Speed Switch feature found in the Elite variant, offering users the choice between a Quiet Mode operating at 1500 rpm for the 120mm front fan and 1300 rpm for the 135mm middle fan, suitable for typical applications. Alternatively, the Performance Mode unlocks more cooling potential, advancing the front fan's rpm to 2000 and the middle fan's to 1700 rpm.

Beyond its performance capabilities, the Pro 5 boasts a high-quality top cover featuring a mesh design and a unique black coating infused with ceramic particles to enhance heat transfer. This air cooler exudes an elegant aesthetic that seamlessly integrates into any system. Additionally, the Pro 5 incorporates strategically positioned cut-outs along its edges, ensuring compatibility with VRM components, accommodates liquid metal thermal paste, and is backed by a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.

In terms of pricing, be quiet! has established an MSRP of $114.90 USD for the Dark Rock Elite and $99.90 USD for the Dark Rock Pro 5. Both models will be available for purchase at retail starting from October 24th.
