- Mouse acceleration/sensitivity is broken in games that don't use raw input, and require a manual flag in the registry to fix (unless it was one of those few AAA games Microsoft included in the hotfix)
Just find a .exe file that always runs in the background (can't be something vital like explorer.exe) and set the registry fix manually to that. For instance coretemp.exe is always in the systray starting from boot to shutdown. Add coretemp to that list. A game doesn't have to be in that list, any application in the list just needs to run to trigger the fix so in my example, coretemp.exe would trigger it and as long as coretemp.exe is running, it would be fixed for any game.

Dunno, but people tested it and it didn't really work. Doesn't hurt to try. Anyways I got it set up with coretemp.exe running in the background. You can test it with a mouserate checking tool. Gives you like a weird value slightly above 125 Hz (even if you have your mouse set to 500 or more) but as soon as I enable coretemp... boom, my 1000 Hz is back.

Ok, and maybe in 8.2 or in 9.0 they will close all the backdoors opened and then MAYBE they could make the german government and the chinese government to consider install that swiss cheese again 😉 (just google "chinese government windows 8" or do the same replacing "chinese" by "german" to know more about that)

well this will please the whining masses I suppose. Start Screen is the perfect UI for my living room based HTPC/gaming machine.
