E-sports gamers are drooling, this is most likely the fastest monitor ever. We can safely ignore the 500 Hz LCD "experiment"

Now we are talking 🙂 I have the Asus 360hz 1080p TN 25" monitor and Alienware 34" 3440x1440 175hz OLED monitors. My next upgrade is 34" 3440x1440 OLED 360hz in the future. OLED is the meta for me, and 360hz is significant more smooth in gaming. Once you played on a 360hz monitor, you don't want to go down 😛

Initially, I saw no difference between 144Hz & 240Hz, but whenever go back to my secondary PC the 144Hz looks significantly worse. It's almost as bad as 60Hz, I wonder if it will be the same going from 240Hz to 360Hz.

First, going from OLED back to LCD, at the same refresh, is night & day difference. 120 OLED looks a lot smoother than 120 LCD (whatever the type of LCD, doesn't matter). OLED @ 360 is ... reality in pixels.

Why not 1000hz ? Who needs this ? No human can see anything past 240hz .

This is the way. Best Regards, Will

Some humans can't see the difference between 60hz and 360hz... Like my wife, because she doesn't care about computers 😛:D

I was pro CS player, i have 240Hz screen . I seen 400FPS on 360hz and 240hz , i can get reaction below 100ms in games . Yet i cant see difference . It is only placebo effect nothing more.

Good for you 🙂 Just moving the mouse in windows, and we can see the difference. I played Quake, so I guess I'm even older than you. Even then, I can see and feel the difference in games. Some are just buildt different 😛

I can confirm. I'm on Asus PG259QN and i was gaming on a 240Hz TN monitor from Gigabyte bevore i have "upgraded" (well not really upgraded in size but refresh rate and pannel)... i was really nervos if i will see any difference but since this upgrade i can tell i will never use anything less then IPS monitor... never ever again TN because the colors and brightness and clearness of ips monitors is soo much better but on the other hand i can tell that depends on games you play or situations you see clear difference between a fast 360hz IPS and 240hz tn pannels. And they were both G-Sync and so on.. so i used them on same GPU-s and so on... 🙂 I would now, specially because i'm getting "older" and my eyes getting older as well 😀... i would NEVER upgrade from 1080p 360hz ips to 1080p 500hz monitor (ips or oled) BUT it would def be amazing to upgrade to something like 31.5inch 360hz monitor with oled pannel... i just hope this will be g-sync ultimate OR minimum g-sync because i also noted that there is a difference between g-sync vs. g-sync compatible monitors... but maybe this last point is just in my head - i dont know for sure since i was not looking on www for more information 😀 but somehow i dont believe that this is in my head only since over years we all get some "feeling" how some types of technology feels when you change to something different 😀 so MINIMUM g-sync if not ultimate otherwize i would not upgrade 🙂

Anyone who thinks they can see a difference above 144 Hz is FoS - it's in your head - and anything above 60 Hz isn't needed for productivity, but if the 2160p panel mentioned uses a standard RGB pixel layout, it will be ideal for productivity users like me. Of course, it will be obscenely expensive, but I'll want one, if the pixel format is standard.

Take a look at a 360Hz+ monitor. If you can't tell the difference between that and 144, I'm sorry to say you're not in great shape. Especially if it's an OLED, I'll take my current 165Hz OLED any day over my previous 240Hz VA. Over 144 gives severely diminishing returns, yes, but it's not a complete waste. And 60Hz is irritating for me to look at, even for productivity. Personally, I'm in no rush to replace this 165Hz panel since that's more than fine in my book, but in the future I do hope the standard keeps getting pushed higher. Even if it is only usable in very limited scenarios.

If all you're using the computer for is MS word & excel I'm sure even 60Hz is overkill, something like 1Hz would be more than enough.

Lol, moving the mouse on a laggy old 60 Hz display is driving me nuts. I'm "surviving" with the current 120 Hz TV, because that's the best I have, but definitely hoping new generation TVs ( LG C4 ? ) will have higher that 120 Hz gaming mode. Or maybe I'll just buy an oled gaming monitor if one is released at 40" or more, because I can't stand small screens anymore. The 27" side monitor which I use for Discord/Extra info looks absolutely tiny compared to the TV on my desk.

Every time I see a 60Hz LCD, I think there's something busted with the system for an instant until I remember the laggy crap I'm looking at is normal.

I remember the good ol' days when 120hz 3D vision monitors was a thing, I remember using side by side for the first time a 120hz and 60hz displays, it was night and day, honestly for work I think 100-120 are a good sweet spot, anything more will only make a difference in competitive shooters. a few months back i was testing an UW Display at 100mhz and i felt as comfy to work as my crappy 165hz display.
