AMD ryzen 5.0 maybe.

Looking forward to this, will update once available for my mobo.

isn't it just a windows power plan?

Anyone......?? I thought it was.

Whilst I'm sure 1usmus is a clever guy I have to wonder how it is that a simple power plan can boost CPU frequency by 200MHz+ and drop temps, without AMD already knowing about it and incorporating it in their chipset drivers or a AGESA update?

CCD is the individual chiplets and each one had 4 CCX cores in it... What's the difference between a CCD overclock and a CCX overclock?? Can they all be targetted individually or something?

Rly not interested in your biased AMD opinion.
This is a news topic about AMD, how about you grab your Intel bias and leg it.

I think Microsoft was "suprised" by the 3k series Ryzen chips. between needing a special thread scheduler and power plan. Needless to say I welcome the free extra performance.

I'm surprised you didn't reach AMD for a comment. If this is true then I highly suspect AMD to push a power plan in the latest driver. I don't doubt its true the software side takes a ton of developers to nail every little detail which AMD simply does not have.

I get the lower CPU idle clocks and temps, but the frequency boost seems weird. Did anyone try it ? Also, there is an AMD specific power plan in windows.

They shouldn't have been surprised. I'm sure AMD told them what was necessary, but MS is just crap at writing schedulers for CPUs that aren't from the mid 2000s. For the record, that includes Intel too, except Intel's monolithic die doesn't suffer as badly from cross-communication between cores.

I really wish this is true.

Sounds like with better efficiency ones is getting a better performance bump. 🙂

@Hilbert Hagedoorn are you going to test this? Pleaaaase!

Not sure, but does this require AGESA 1.0.0.4 AB ? Or can it be tested on 1.0.0.3 ABBA ?

I think it needs the latest version of W10, because on LTSC (2018) it has zero effect. Exactly the same results as "AMD Optimized" one. (as in, it still bounces between cores)
