Over a week ago: [youtube=2Vi_J4ixabE] (That's not how SSR, nor planar reflections look.)

I'm not sure if most of the fortnite players would be able to afford the hardware to do this with the game.

A 3060 should be fine, or even a 3050ti? Who knows, i'm sure epic /nvidia knows the age demographic of this game.

If a "3050ti", if such a card is ever made, can do ray tracing at 1080p 60fps and it's priced like a current gen 1650 that would be an amazing card and it would sell like hot cakes.

I think he is referring to the raytracing not, well reflecting all the objects and effects.

at least try and get it right before posting the vid.
at least follow your own advice and post an unedited pic, when trying to make a point. one has to be a fukng Sherlock Holmes and Sigmund Freud all in one to figure out what's going on in ur minds and what you're trying to say

There is no reflection on the water for the rocket so i added it in the screen shot . i noticed it when watching the video. no reflection for the rocket. i thought it all happens out the box withh RT no need for devs to get involved but that isnt true it seems.

UE4 has it's own DXR implementation. They've been slowly bringing certain systems online to use RT but there are still various Niagara (particle system in UE) effects that don't correctly work with their RT implementation.

If this is used in a competitive match (PVP) then its going to give RTX players a huge advantage in certain scenarios. Imagine hiding behind a wall or in a building and you can use mirror or window reflections to see where the enemies are where the other player with no RTX features doesn't see what you see giving the RTX player a huge advantage. I don't mind these features being implemented but only once the technology is the standard across all hardware and right now that isn't the case.

what a waste. Guess we don't need the Iphone or Android version after all.

Might help if the added reflection was better aligned. Then it could be seen as a reflection rather than an additional rocket. More rockets...we need more rockets.

That's Sigmund Freud's image 😀 Not the original. Original lacks rocket's reflection all together.
