I wanted to install and finish this game but installing yet another driver? Sigh.

Noticed that I no longer have a "Temp" folder on C: drive, with this driver and 398.36...which I'm assuming was used for "shader cache." Currently testing Watch Dogs 2 and Witcher 3 with "shader cache" off. But so far, drivers seem fast and the hang at shutdown is still present....now the message says it's "creative spi service" that's hanging...not a huge issue, just annoying.

I didn't have any dde.exe or nvcontainer yet, *crosses fingers*

C:\Users\*user name*\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache\ C:\Users\*user name*\AppData\Local\Temp\Low\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache\ I think these are the current paths for shader cache, they changed path a while ago, now C:\temp is not being used anymore AFAIK.

What's that?
Nvidia's own reshade like program, it is in the word, "filter" you change visuals and effects from driver's level tool if game supported with no risk of ban, it is purely legit/acknowledged instead of reshade.

Thanks for that..gaming is definitely better with it on, cool.

UPDATE: Our hotfix drivers now require us to get a Microsoft signature prior to release. We are changing our hotfix driver process to do so going forward and have reposted an updated 398.46 package that now has the correct signature at the URL in the OP.

Looks like Nvidia doesn't test their own hotfixes at all. Well, maybe they tested this hotfix only on test rigs where they have signature check disabled or their root cert installed as trusted. "Good job" Nvidia, small indie company BTW.

the norm for development of just about any driver is with the development machines configured to test signing modes. This was oversight and in small part microsofts fault for not being more clear about signing changes.

Which GTX 970 do you have, the 3 fan one or referance? I have not noticed any change to temps will driver versions on my MSI 970 gaming. I do set a fan profile but even then I would notice if something changed as fans don't even run till I get to 50c or so.

Mark, Scaling doesn't work when using 4K TV like OLED LG , and trying to use HDR games with resolution other than 1080p or 4K for example 1440p 2560x1440p. the resolution becomes a square with black lines on all sides. with non HDR games the scaling works. The issue happens in BF1 , I can't play it with HDR 2560x1440p . Also happened with Agents of Mayhem HDR 2560x1440p. Also happens in Shadow of War HDR 2560x1440p. Scaling doesn't work with HDR enabled. please fix this ! it's since HDR released . it doesn't happen with AMD Cards. so it shouldn't be issue to fix it. Even when using Aspect Ratio or Full-Screen it doesn't help when HDR is enabled. This is how HDR looks like when trying to use 2560x1440p resolution even when I enabled Scaling mode to any than no-scaling https://i.imgur.com/vte5Qfr.png

ok, i officially HATE NVidia now... This driver is totally borked... i even get driver resetts on teh desktop...By just sitting on teh desktop and doing nothing.. Wreckfest runs worse..no more stable 60 fps with the NEW drivers.. Before i had an older one "391.74" wich had NO SINGLE Driver reset or any other problems..Even wreckfest did run with an stable 60Fps... SO please Nvidia tell me more about how your freaking up your drivers?!?!?!?! I guess, if your on windows 7 and use older cards, like kepler, you really should NOT use the newer drivers.. From what i tested, (yeah believe me or not) teh Quadro drivers are the best ones, STable, no problems and they just work... Every damn quadro driver i used worked miles better then the geForce crap drivers... I dont know, i guess Workstation drivers have to be more stable.. -----back to modded 397.93-quadro drivers, no more resets, madvr runs smooth and stable aaand i can wreckfest again.... RANT OVER
