Ah the new LG 27" 1440p panel!! I wonder how they compare to last years model of LG panels.

i like my u2711, but since it's made from 2 panels, the orange color doesn't match, so maybe this would be a worthy replacement. plus i have the xbox plugged in via HDMI and there still feels like a delay, of course that might be the scaling from 1080 p of the xbox to the 1440 of the monitor, any thoughts on that?

do you think this one can be daisy chained if it got a normal and a mini display port 1.2

Any scaler will introduce input lag, I'm not sure if there is any workaround other than using a native 1080p panel. This is the reason I bought a single input 27" with no scaler or OSD, it has a lot less input lag but I can't plug in my xbox or any device that cannot output 2560x1440.

Monitors cannot be daisy chained.

I stand corrected, I did not realize that it was possible.

whats changed from the u2711? I find some monitor specs confusing 😕
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/140/140062.jpg
I have to say, now that I finally have 2560x1440 it's amazing how nice it is to have such a large workspace, and strategy games are just amazing. My previous monitor was an Ultrasharp (WFP2407-HC) and it's still great on my laptop now. But, I went with the Auria EQ276W instead at 40% of the cost of the 2713H, or 60% of the cost of the 2713HM that it truly competes against. As for the difference between the 2711 and 2713H, it appears to boil down to even wider color gamut (120% CIE versus 110%) when it comes to the display itself. It also gains 4 USB 3.0 ports over the 4 2.0 USB ports prior. It loses the card reader it seems, though there appears to be a CF port but I can't find it listed on the specs page for some reason. The 2711 is listed as using 113 W in a 'typical' scenario while the 2713H is listed as 60 W, with 2711 claiming around 5 W in sleep with the 2713H as 0.5 W in sleep. And, perhaps most importantly to many users, the 2713H should be using LG's newer, and less grainy, AG coating. I know some people absolutely loathed the 2711's AG coating so if they did in fact go with the newer coating that should make a lot of people happy.

^thanks for the explanation. lower power consumption sounds good but I'd live with the rest. u2711 is sweet.

Can't really compare mainstream market and korean displays. Or are you talking about a 1080p 27"? In which case I spit on you, sir.

I guess they can be compared, I cant remember the point I was trying to make. Seems like there are the mainstream US market monitors Dell, Apple, Asus, Samsung that have a huge price premium, then all the offbrand Korean ones that are just branded OEM manufactured products. I do agree buying the korean offbrand over and mainstream products, as I bought my 120hz 27" for a bit less than that dell monitor.

1080p>all in terms of frames per second, smooth gaming, i have an LG ips277l @1080p, i am extremely satisfied and i gave only 279euro (less than half that dell costs)...that was a smart move and i trust LG more than Dell... 🙂

Nice monitor but 27 inch is to big for me, hurts my eyes, don't think ill ever go highrr than 24 inch.

That LG you listed is a 60hz display, at 1080p, and at 27 inches makes the pixiels absoultely massive. FPS? smooth gaming? With my humble 660 Ti I run everything at higher settings at 2560x1440 and have no issues maintaining frame rate. I don't see any way that could be better than this dell display, let alone the similar priced Korean displays.

Its true is big for some people, I use mine at very low brightness and use F.lux to warm up the white level to eliminate eyestrain for long usage. Same with my U2412m at work, I use it at 30 brightness/70 contrast and f.lux at 5000k daily usage. But for gaming, nothing compares. The color quality an pixel density make games look phenomenal. I could go for a 34-40" @ 4k resolutions for gaming, honestly.
