Apple announced the release of its latest iPad Pro models, designed with enhanced portability and performance. The new lineup includes two models: a 13-inch version and a more compact 11-inch version. Both are equipped with the new Ultra Retina XDR display, which utilizes cutting-edge tandem OLED technology for superior visual clarity. These models are powered by Apple's new M4 chip, marking a significant advancement in their processor technology. The 13-inch iPad Pro is notably thin at just 5.1 mm, while the 11-inch model measures 5.3 mm in thickness. Despite their slim profiles, both versions maintain the structural integrity of previous models. They are available in two finishes: silver and space black, with enclosures made from 100% recycled aluminum.

The Ultra Retina XDR display is a standout feature, incorporating tandem OLED technology that enhances brightness and color accuracy. This technology allows the display to achieve up to 1000 nits of full-screen brightness and 1600 nits of peak brightness for HDR content. Additionally, the display offers new nano-texture glass, which reduces glare without compromising image quality.

M4 Chip Capabilities

The M4 chip represents a leap forward in performance, built on a 3-nanometer technology that optimizes power efficiency. This new chip features an updated CPU with more performance and efficiency cores, advanced machine learning accelerators, and a new 10-core GPU that supports dynamic caching, mesh shading, and ray tracing. These improvements provide up to four times the performance of the M2 chip in certain applications, while also being more energy-efficient.

Advanced Neural Engine

The iPad Pro's AI capabilities are driven by the most powerful Neural Engine Apple has developed, capable of performing up to 38 trillion operations per second. This engine supports advanced machine learning functionalities, enhancing tasks such as video editing and content creation directly on the device.

Enhanced Connectivity and Accessories

The new iPad Pro models include Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4 support, offering high-speed connections and compatibility with various accessories. Wireless capabilities are expanded with support for Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G connectivity. The devices also support eSIM technology for easier mobile plan management.

Pro Accessories

The Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard have been updated. The Apple Pencil Pro introduces new interaction capabilities, such as a sensitivity sensor and haptic feedback, while the Magic Keyboard offers a new design with a function row and haptic feedback on the trackpad.

Software and Environment

Running on iPadOS, the new iPad Pro supports professional applications and multitasking features like Stage Manager and full external display support up to 6K. Apple continues its commitment to environmental sustainability by utilizing recycled materials across the device and aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030.

Pricing and Availability

The new iPad Pro models are available for order with prices starting at $999 for the 11-inch model and $1,299 for the 13-inch model. These devices come in various storage configurations and are also available at reduced prices through educational discounts. Accessories like the Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard are available for purchase separately.
