teaser

Sweet momma! Over in Asia an Asian guy (well we assume) apparently has been able to test a GeForce Titan 780 (which we assume it will be called). The upcoming flagship GPU for the consumer market scored an amazing X7107 points in 3DMark 11. Now if that score is for real then the Titan is a BEAST. A GeForce GTX 680 normally scores roughly X3250~3300 points, the dual GPU GeForce GTX 690 roughly X6000 and the ASUS ARES II (dual-GPU) we recently tested scores X6300.

NVIDIA PhysX effects in Hawken

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 65

One of the new games with PhysX support is Hawken, a free-to-play mech-based multiplayer shooter. NVIDIA created a video that shows off the game's PhysX capabilities. Developed using Unreal Engine 3, Hawken looks fantastic, putting players in the cockpits of lethal mechs, each with their own weapons, loadouts, and perks. Through kills and match victories, players will rank up and unlock new items for their mechs, opening up new tactical opportunities and new play styles. Being a free-to-play title, players also have the option of speeding progress along through the use of real money transactions, though these do not grant additional power or a competitive edge over players who progress through exclusively through the use of experience.

DDR3 pricing will rise

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Arguably it's been at such an all-time low that I'm glad to see it rise a little for the sake of the ODMs. But pricing of DDR3 memory is set to rise. Following sharp price reductions, the trend is now reversing as DRAM makers are cutting production and allocating more capacity to mobile DRAM and server memory.
