Do i see ram slots on both side of cpu? am only one that thinks that bad idea with size of CPU heatsinks these days? I stead of have one slot block we get to have more block from both sides now?
Did you miss the x79 motherboards? A lot of these systems will be watercooled.

So is the x99 platform it's the enthusiasts line. Intel has the z97 line for all the normal gamers out there.

Just because it a "Enthusiasts" line don automaticly mean ever one that gets it will "OC" "Water cool" etc etc, im still amazed by the amount of a people that auto maticly think that means they will OC/Watercool etc. X58 is "Enthusiasts" line to but i know plenty of people that didnt OC them let alone Watercool.

Intel handled "enthusiasts" a little different after x58 your board with its features is what evolve into the zX7 line of boards and the higher end enthusiast/workstation platform got the xX9 chipsets. No one is building a bunget x99 build. And with the right RAM choices any high-end air cooling option will clear.

I think MSI may have you covered on that or maybe that was just micro-ATX either way I could only see that used if you go for the 5860k otherwise the 40 pcie lanes are a waste and you would 've better served with a z97 and devil's canyon i7.

Looking good.. now for some benchmarks. Still deciding on whether or not to go with the Z97 or X99 platform myself. Working with a AMD Crosshair V Formula w/ a FX-8350, and going Intel finally here soon.

Im on LGA 2011 and Im Watercooled..:D Damn..Really like this Mobo..Thinking of Upgrading to X99. I will sell my other Rig with a 4820k.

As always, these Asus mobos look fantastic. One thing is sure for me with my next upgrade, I want to get high end mobo+gpu from the same company to have the exact same color scheme. I know looks might not matter for many, but if you already are spending loads of money on such hardware, you might as well have it look good. 🤓

Join date 2001? That's the oldest I've seen.....
Believe it or not my original signup was 2001 too.... I moved and lost info then resigned up later. I didn't post back then just read, so it didn't matter being signed in. And the more I think about it, it may have been earlier than2001. [Sweet board] If I ever get the money I'd love to build an Intel rig.
