Wow, seems very well optimized. Almost makes me want to start playing AC again. Almost. Nah.

Video benchmarks shows 1% CPU usage (or less) @4k... That 7950X3D is sweet Boss.

Really goes to show how little CPUs matter beyond competitive games. With modern CPUs practically self overclocking and even budget or mobile models boosting past 5GHz, my next upgrade is likely going to revolve around efficiency rather than peak performance.

Thanks for review:Have not bought Assassins Creed Mirage yet but I still do play Assassins Creed Origins and Valhalla ,tried older Assassins Creed games and do not like them.Maybe time to revisit the older games like Assassins Creed black flag maybe these days with a 4090 Physx might work better these days .

I've been trying AC3, and really trying to enjoy it for what it is. But it just doesn't quite grip me in the way that Odyssey and Origins still do. I will eventually get Mirage, but seeing as it's only a short game, only when it's about half price.

This AC is a return to basis of the AC licence, also it is made by a brand new studio (with friend in it 🙂 ). It is a game made for those who loved the pre-origin AC. My only objection is that it is really too short, but it was made pretty quickly, it can explain lot of thing highlighted by this review too.

It's too short because it was originally a dlc for Valhalla.

It's a nine years old graphic engine so of course it runs well...basically the same engine introduced with Assassin’s Creed Unity with some upgrades in Valhalla. At THAT time it was a marvel nowadays it's a little on the meh side - I can see some low res textures here and there but still for such an old engine it can create some spectacular views. For me the gameplay is the real star here not the visuals - as it should be.

Nope the DLC was cancelled and was open world, this is the 1st one of a new story and is not open world. The game mechanic also is a wipe out of the origin trilogy, and is more like the ezio/altair story. This time the game have a real AC feeling.

Odyssey is definitely my favorite of the series.
