How does the game play when you mod the game code? Will the AI actually work as "intended" or is it the same boring alien hunt?

The bug made the AI blind to the map, so it only went forward and attacked what it had in front, the fix show the AI all the different path ways it can use to attack, there are a couple of videos on Youtube showing the diffference.
