And Gearbox didn't think about fixing this at some point? What the hell? I saw a video about this, and it improves the AI by a huge amount. It's insane the game even shipped like this.

so is tether or teather the correct spelling? Tether makes sense, teather isn't a word. I guess the function being called was misspelled so you fix it by also misspelling it in the ini o_O

...I mean that doesn't make it better or understandable...That kind of just makes it worse that there doesn't seem to be any final quality control or you know, someone proofing the code? Logic-Spend millions making a AAA game, can't pay to have code updated.

This only shows how horrid quality control was made on this title or in Gearbox studio alone for that matter. I'm not surprised that a bug like this slipped through initial code reviews, but the fact that it was never caught and investigated by dev team is rater astonishing. I was looking into grabbing this game on one of Steam's sales, but mention of horrid AI in game put me away. I might give it another shot now, on sale o course. 🙂

I this actually verified? Spelling errors in ini files usually just reflect spelling errors in identifiers used in actual code. I don't have the game, but someone who does can just do a grep on the binaries for "teather".

Am I the only one here wondering why such a variable exists in a .ini file in the first place? I don't really see the point in being able to tweak the AI like this in such a manner. That's what cheats or console prompts are for. Furthermore, the fact that there was a typo suggests the variable was ignored, and therefore AI's default behavior is to be "stupid". But why? It doesn't make sense why you'd deliberately pick anything else other than for testing purposes. In other words, if you're going to have something in a .ini file regarding the AI's behavior, it should be used to override that behavior. That way, you can make a spelling mistake and you don't ruin the game.
