A heat spreader does not always improve the temperature. Rather than that, it moves the heat from the chips to the PCB, distributing it more evenly throughout the whole module, and eliminating potential hot-spots. Theoretically, it should allow better overclocking. Vengeance Pro RGB memory is without a doubt, not a low profile kit (51 mm).

Despite that, there shouldn’t be an issue with most coolers. The RGB strip is powered and controlled via DIMM slots, and no additional power needs to be provided (like in some Geil RAM kits).

When powered up, the lighting is bright and clear. The backlight is even. The 10 LEDs do their job very nicely. You can choose one of a variety of colors, but also you can set some stunning transition and fade effects.

The backlight is managed from the level of the iCUE application available at the manufacturer's website, and there’s some more details about it on the following pages.  Below a photo with other Corsair RGB gear in sync (Strafe MK2 keyboard and ST100 headset stand). Unfortunately, my desk is not big enough to put the chassis on it (by the monitor), so it had to go below.
