Introduction
Corsair M65 RGB Ultra mouse
In this article, we review the Corsair M65 RGB Ultra mouse. It’s an optical mouse that was launched on 21st September. It's a new release from the M65 series, which was introduced already seven years ago. After two years – the Pro edition was introduced, and in 2019 there was an M65 RGB Elite version; what do we have now? An Ultra edition. This time around, we get the wired and the wireless versions. For the review purpose, we received the first one. Except for the communication, there are no major differences between them, besides the weight (97 g for wired and 110 g for wireless) and the report rate (8000 Hz for wired and 2000 Hz for wireless – which still a lot, most of the competitors end up at 1000 Hz ). The report rate of 8000 Hz is achieved using the Axon technology. A minimum of an Intel® i7 9th generation or AMD Ryzen™ 7 2nd generation processor (or equivalent) is required for the best 8,000Hz hyper-polling experience. Both versions use the MARKSMAN 26K sensor instead of 18,000 DPI PMW3391 (of course, both are optical ones). Its tracking speed is up to 650 IPS, and the acceleration can reach 500 g. Two dedicated buttons allow you to cycle through five defined DPI settings quickly. Is there something more? Yes, you can find here eight programmable buttons. The main buttons are the Omrons, but this time not with estimated durability of 50 million clicks – it's an unknown figure here, but the Quickstrike technology is used here, which gives better response time. That's not all; there's some "downgrade" as well. The RGB section is only 1-zoned; there are 2 RGB zones in the wired version, so the same situation as in the new Sabre RGB Pro series (and it was the same dependency for report rate there).
The mouse shape is suited for claw grip only. The MOBA and FPS are the genres of the games that these products are aimed at. The weight is relatively low in both cases; in a wired one, it was 97 g, and the wireless version is only 13 g more. There's a possibility to add 18 g more, using six provided weights. For the wired version, the provided 1.8 m USB cable is made from a drag-reducing paracord. For the wireless variant, it's also 1.8 m long but made of tangle-free rubber. Both versions support the Corsair ICue software, which enables a lot of customization, including the one relating to the RGB lighting. As for the things typical to the wireless functionality of a wireless version product, this is achieved via:

Battery life is estimated at:
- Up to 90hrs continuous use in 2.4GHz SLIPSTREAM mode
- Up to 120hrs continuous use via Bluetooth
The Corsair M65 RGB Ultra is available at $69.99, and the M65 RGB Ultra Wireless is almost twice as expensive, with an MSRP of 129.99 USD. The warranty is two years, so that's pretty standard. Is this product worth its price, given the provided features and functionality? Let's find out.
