A proficient YouTuber recently presented a noteworthy accomplishment in the field of engineering through the creation of a submersible computer. This unique system utilizes state-of-the-art components such as the RTX 4090 GPU and the Intel Raptor Lake CPU.

The principle underlying this technological advancement is relatively straightforward yet effective. The PC, when submerged in cold water, enables superior heat dissipation which contributes to enhanced performance. This technique of leveraging water submersion for improved cooling has been previously investigated by multiple technology corporations. They've contemplated the viability of this method for possible implementations in submerged data centers.

The cooling capabilities of cold water provide substantial advantages for the management of hardware temperature. The realization of this project was not trivial, requiring a custom design approach. Traditional PC casing was deemed unsuitable for this endeavor, necessitating the employment of an acrylic tube to contain the hardware. To ascertain water resistance, copper tubes were strategically incorporated. They extended outside the cylinder and connected to plates on both the upper and lower ends of the structure.

Given the hardware selection, which included an RTX 4090 GPU and an i9-13900K CPU, a high level of heat generation was expected. To tackle this, a bespoke water-cooling system was utilized to ensure effective cooling for both the central processing unit and the graphics processing unit. Following the careful installation of the metal pipes and water cooler, thorough testing ensued.

The PC was submerged in a pond located near the creator's home, where it was noticed that the upper portion floated while the remaining sections stayed underwater. The tests showed that under load, the coolant temperature experienced a marginal increase. This allowed the CPU to sustain a temperature below 60 degrees Celsius, while the RTX 4090 GPU consistently operated at a temperature lower than 40 degrees Celsius.

These tests' success exceeded the preliminary projections. The creator confirmed that the pond's temperature would remain largely unaffected, even during prolonged periods of use. The submersible PC equipped with an RTX 4090 GPU and an Intel i9-13900K CPU presents an inventive and proficient mechanism for advanced heat dissipation.
