QNAP introduced the QXG-25G2SF-E810 25GbE SFP28 dual-port network expansion card. The card features the Intel Ethernet Controller E810-XXVAM2 and supports PCIe Gen 4, while being backward compatible with PCIe Gen 3.

It's compatible with QNAP NAS and Windows/Linux workstations and servers. This expansion card facilitates transitions to enterprise-level 25GbE networks with low-latency capabilities, suitable for applications in server rooms, virtualization, real-time media editing, and data backup and restoration tasks.

Andy Chuang, Product Manager of QNAP, commented on the rising adoption of 25GbE networks due to data-intensive applications such as virtualization and high-resolution video editing. He noted that 25GbE offers scalability and a smooth transition to 100GbE. The QXG-25G2SF-E810 adapter aligns with these needs, promoting efficient bandwidth utilization for various organizations.

The QXG-25G2SF-E810 boasts two 25GbE SFP28 ports and, by leveraging SMB Multichannel, supports an aggregated bandwidth of up to 50 Gbps. This capability enhances large file sharing and high-volume data transfers. With Network Offload support, the expansion card optimizes network efficiency, making it well-suited for I/O-intensive applications, latency-sensitive virtualization tasks, and data centers. The QXG-25G2SF-E810 pairs effectively with the QNAP TS-h2287XU-RP NAS, accommodating more connected devices. Paired with a 25GbE network switch, it fosters a high-speed, scalable network infrastructure with increased cost-effectiveness.

For operating the QXG-25G2SF-E810 on Windows/Linux platforms, including Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, drivers are necessary. These can be sourced from the Intel official website.
