Intel is set to follow its Alchemist GPU architecture with the upcoming Battlemage GPU series, hinting at continued expansion in its graphics technology sector. Recent developments suggest that the first independent graphics card under the Battlemage architecture may feature the BGM-G21 chip. This information surfaced in a recent update to the LLVM compiler infrastructure, indicating that Intel is advancing in its GPU offerings. The designation "BMG-G21" has been identified as a product code for what could be a flagship model in the Battlemage series. At present, the specifics regarding the positioning and performance capabilities of the BGM-G21 chip remain undisclosed, leaving the tech community speculating about its potential applications and target market. Earlier leaks had mentioned both G21 and G10 models under the Battlemage line, but currently, only the BMG-G21 has been referenced in public updates.

Intel's foray into independent graphics card production began with the release of the Alchemist architecture in June 2022. Despite initial driver issues, updates have gradually stabilized the performance of these graphics cards. However, the market response has generally been lukewarm, especially when compared to competitors like AMD's Radeon series.

Given the usual pace of development and release within Intel's GPU projects, it is anticipated that the independent graphics card based on the Battlemage GPU architecture could be unveiled as early as the fourth quarter of 2024. However, further details about the launch and additional models in the Battlemage lineup have not yet been disclosed.
