Emerging reports suggest that the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER might feature an upgraded 20GB memory. This speculation about the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series is further strengthened with new data from Benchlife, in conjunction with information previously disseminated by two established hardware analysts.

Critical details such as full specifications and the product's launch date are yet to be ascertained. It's customary for NVIDIA to relay preliminary data to board partners without committing to a specific naming convention. When Add-In Board (AIB) manufacturers identify a model that mirrors the RTX 4080 in design but varies in memory configuration, it provides a strong indication toward a possible SUPER or Ti variant.

Benchlife's sources suggest that this prospective RTX 4080 modification may encompass 20GB of memory. Although not definitively labeled as a SUPER model, the alternative proposition of it being another RTX 4080 variant seems less likely, given NVIDIA's past decision to discontinue a 12GB version of the 4080.

Technical specifications of this potential 20GB memory configuration would necessitate a broader 320-bit memory bus. This aligns with prior conjectures about the adoption of the AD102 GPU for the RTX 4080, since the AD103 doesn't support the essential memory bus. This may also hint that the RTX 4070 SUPER could be updated to a 16GB memory, especially if there's merit to the current chatter about its association with the AD103 GPU.

Interestingly, an RTX 4080 SUPER with 20GB would place NVIDIA in a position parallel to AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XT in terms of memory configuration. This scenario would manifest a striking similarity in high-end offerings from both companies, with memory configurations of 24GB, 20GB, and 16GB.
