Xiaomi is poised to incorporate the forthcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in its devices, positioning itself as an early adopter of the technology. Speculation had previously indicated that the Xiaomi 14 series might be unveiled on October 27, 2023.

The realm of mobile optics has encountered a pivotal transition. In collaboration with Leica, Xiaomi is set to introduce an advanced optical system, integrating Leica's latest Summilux lens, recognized for its precision in mobile imaging, and a novel professional high-dynamic mobile image sensor. This system aims to equip mobile devices with enhanced real-time imaging proficiency, ensuring accurate captures across various environments and conditions. The first device to feature this cutting-edge optical setup will be the new Xiaomi 14 series.

Lu Weibing, a senior executive at Xiaomi, communicated this update via Weibo, the Chinese social networking platform. In addition to revealing the forthcoming 14 series, Weibing confirmed the company's continued partnership with Leica. Both the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro will be equipped with cameras developed alongside Leica, incorporating its lenses. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is in the pipeline, with its release anticipated for spring 2024.

The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are set for a late October 2023 launch, their initial availability is restricted to the Chinese market, where they'll operate on Xiaomi's HyperOS. A US/European presentation is slated for the first quarter of 2024, indicating that international audiences might have to wait before getting hands-on with these flagship smartphones.
