EK is set to release a new line of direct die water blocks specifically designed for AMD's AM5 socket and delidded Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs, including X3D variants. These water blocks feature a cooling engine tailored exclusively for direct die applications on the AM5 socket. The cold plate incorporates protruding sections that align precisely with the CPU's chiplets and I/O die, optimizing thermal contact. The installation of these water blocks necessitates the removal of the CPU's standard loading mechanism to integrate a die guard, ensuring the PCB remains unbent and maintains proper electrical contact with socket pins. The design is influenced by the EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX Radeon Edition and includes a see-through acrylic top framed by a black-anodized aluminum edge.

Key features of the EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB - AMD Ryzen Edition include its construction on the recognized Velocity² platform. This model boasts a glass-like acrylic top with dynamic D-RGB lighting and a frame of black sandblasted aluminum. The water block's fin structure is engineered to channel coolant flow predominantly over the chiplets and partially over the central I/O die, with a specialized jet plate directing the coolant to the hottest areas.

Additionally, the EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die water blocks offer compatibility with the EK-Matrix7 system, enhancing the precision and ease of installation by standardizing the height and port distances in increments of 7 mm.

For CPU and socket compatibility, these water blocks are specifically designed for use with AMD AM5 sockets and delidded Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs, including the X3D variants. They also support major motherboard manufacturers' addressable RGB sync technologies. Prices run from 270 upwards to a staggering 350 euros.
