I'd be interested to see the actual temperature drops and performance increases for your £270-£350. AMD CPU seem to have little headroom for OCing as far as temps are concerned, I'm wondering if the premium paid for these specific blocks could be better spent elsewhere in the loop.

My very personal opinion this is just a brand show off and make a lead product to EK, i do not think has any practical use outside some liquid cooling competition or sponsored event or to make a youtube video and some advertisement to the company.

Its a shame as something like this back in the C2D days, even up to the i7 2700k, would have been awesome. Lapping the HS gave great results with both air and WCing, more direct die options would have been welcome.

Well EK, you're late. I sure as hell won't buy a new cooler for any of my stuff. The block was almost twice as expensive as the last one I got (270 is not even breaking a sweat to spend on a monoblock these days), and direct die cooling comes to late for me. Just to remind people, this is 18 months after the platform's launch... can't tell me they couldn't have done it a year earlier.

EK is on the verge of being liquidated.

There's really no reason to overclock an AMD CPU these days since they boost up to 1000mhz on their own. My 5600X general performance is around 3.5ghz, but when I start gaming or using any other intense application it goes up to 4.65ghz on its own and stays cool with a wraith prism cooler.

Hence me asking what you get for your money, as theres no OC headroom, so outside of slightly lower temps (maybe) you get from a less expensive cooler, whats the point.
